I understand that starting a design process off from scratch can be daunting, so I will offer you clear, simple and honest design and ordering processes to make ordering your wedding cake as stress free as possible.
Your wedding cake should be a centrepiece, and a reflection of you as a couple. A literal taste of your future together to come. All wedding cakes are personally delivered by me on the day, and I will work with the venue and any stylists or florists to ensure your cake is perfectly displayed in a way that will be remembered for years to come.

Firstly, are we a good match? If you are looking for a perfect finish, realistic hand crafted sugar flowers, and incredible attention to detail, coupled with delicious flavours made with the finest ingredients, by someone who cares about the natural world as much as you do, then look no further! Let’s talk about how we can bring your dream wedding cake to life, with all the care and attention it deserves.
Secondly, am I available? Summer wedding dates in particular book up quickly, so I do recommend booking your wedding cake date in as soon as you are able. You do not need to know what design you’d like in order to book in. Many couples secure their date before starting their design. Please send me a message via the contact us page to check my availability for your chosen date.
Once my availability has been confirmed we can discuss your initial ideas, and have a look at what is most important about your cake for you. We will discuss your initial ideas, and talk about the size and finish that is best for you. At this point I may be able to give you an estimated price, or if your wedding vision is still quite loose, we can discuss my pricing structure to make sure this works for your wedding budget.
Most wedding cake orders require a £100 booking fee to secure your date. This is non refundable and non transferable payment which locks your wedding date into my diary. Dates are offered on a first come first served basis, and dates cannot be held without a deposit. Once an initial quote is sent out, I will hold the date for four working days to allow you time to confirm your booking. After this time, if there is no response to a further prompt, your date may be offered to another couple.
If you already have a good idea of the style of cake you’d like, and a solid vision for the day, we can book in a call either via telephone or via Zoom to discuss your requirements and ideas in more detail. I can take inspiration from your vision board, venue, floristry, wedding invitation and more, and sketching as we talk, we will create a starter plan for the design of your dream wedding cake.
Consultations can also be taken at my home based studio by appointment only, where I will have a selection of display cakes to help visualise the size of your cake. Space is limited so I do ask we limit this option to just two people at the consultation. If you have already booked in and we are finalising the design, you are welcome to have your tasting here at the same time.
Once I have a good idea of the direction to take your cake, I will go and create a couple of initial design sketches, incorporating the elements that mean most to you. Final tweaks can be made at this point, which I will send to you to approve, along with an approximate quote.
I recommend starting this process 6 months before your wedding to allow for any final changes in your colour scheme or other details to have taken place, and final arrangements are being made with your florist, venue, and stylist to make sure that we are working with your final vision for the day.
Once we have a plan for how many tiers you’d like so you know how many flavour options are available to you, I’ll send out a taster box with some of my more popular choices, and a couple of the less usual ones. These are sent out via next day delivery, usually once a month over the off peak season for you to enjoy at home, or share with family and friends, to make your final flavour choices. Based on your choices I will send out the final quote to you.
A few weeks before your wedding I will get in touch to confirm the design, flavour and make final arrangements. At this point we will discuss delivery times, any last minute changes to the plan, and final display details. I will liaise with your venue, planner, stylist, florist, or anyone else needed to make sure the plans for your wedding cake display is perfect and set up arrangements runs smoothly on the day. The final balance is due no later than the week before delivery.
