The perfect party solution for children ages 6 and up! I will come to you or a venue of your choice! Offering children’s cupcake decorating parties, covering Sussex and Surrey.
Make your life easier for your child’s party or celebration, and let me take over for a bit! I’ll bring enough supplies for a minimum of 6 children to decorate their own cupcakes! You are responsible for managing the number of guests to the venue size. Each child will need space to sit and be able to have enough space to be creative and for the adults to move about freely. I do ask that there are suitable facilities to wash hands, and kitchen facilities so I can clean up afterwards!
I will demonstrate each skill and walk them through each one to create their own box of edible masterpieces.
What is involved?
We will look at:
- The importance of good hygiene, and how to avoid making their own and each other’s cakes ‘yukky’
- Holding and using a piping bag
- Using a palette knife
- How to use cutters and impression mats
- Creating piped buttercream designs
- Creating fondant icing designs including marbled and textured finishes
Each child will take home:
- A cupcake decorating certificate (names are required a full 7 days before the event)
- A personalised cupcake hat they will have decorated themselves at the beginning of the party
- 6 decorated cupcakes and a personalised gift box to take them home in.
Please note, this is not a baking activity. I will bring the pre-baked cupcakes with me one the day.
The party lasts for approximately 1.5 – 2.5 hours, depending on the age of the children.
Booking details
To check my availability for your chosen date, please get in touch with the form below. Please note, there is little availability over the months of May – August, but I will help if I can.
Whilst I will be watching your children to ensure their safety, at least one another adult presence is required at all times during the party. If you have any particularly challenging children then an additional adult may be required at your discretion.
Younger siblings are welcome to join in, but will require another adult to assist throughout the party.
Themed and personalised birthday cakes are also available to pre-order for the event.
Prices:
Children’s cupcake decorating parties are £270 for up to 6 children, with additional children @ £35 each, up to a maximum of 20 children.
Once availability has been confirmed, secure your date with a £100 booking fee. Dates are not confirmed until this has been received and are only held for 48 hours after enquiry. After this time, please get in touch to confirm I still have availability.
PLEASE DO NOT BOOK IN YOUR PARTY UNTIL YOU HAVE CONFIRMED AVAILABILITY
Optional extras:
- A break in the middle for the children to enjoy a cup of hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows, and a small homemade chocolate brownie (no nuts) @ £4 per child
- Personalised aprons for all the children to keep @ £15 per child
- A speciality themed and personalised celebration cake. Prices from £120
Specialty themed parties cost £55 per child. Minimum 6 children apply. Specialty themed and personalised birthday cakes can also be arranged
Please discuss optional extras with me separately. There are too many options to practically add here. If you’d like to add a celebration cake, a minimum of 2 weeks notice is required.
There is a travel and parking charge for all parties outside RH14 area. Parking and travel charges as a return journey will be charged separately, along with any toll or congestion charges if applicable. These will be worked out upon enquiry with the full venue address.
Allergens:
In this children’s cupcake decorating party we will be using wheat based flour, eggs, dairy and soya based products. No nuts will be used in the recipes for the party, however cakes are made in the kitchen which use nut and nut products.
All cakes and decorations are suitable for vegetarians, with the exception of the optional marshmallows.
Unfortunately ‘free-from’ cupcakes and ingredients are not available.
Terms and Conditions
PAYMENT:
1.1 You’ll receive an email after your purchase confirming your booking. Once booked, children’s cupcake decorating parties are non refundable and non transferable, with the exception of terms in section 2.
1.2 Your chosen date cannot be guaranteed until a booking fee has been made.
1.3 A booking fee of £100 must be made and received at the time of booking.
1.4 Final numbers for the party, and final payment must be made no less than 1 week ahead of the party date. After this point there will be no option to change, to allow me time to prepare the correct amount of materials and ingredients.
CANCELLATION BY YOU:
2.1 You may cancel your children’s cupcake decorating party up to 8 weeks before the booked date. Under these circumstances you will be entitled to a full refund of your booking fees.
2.2 If you cancel 3-8 weeks before the party date you will be entitled to a 50% refund.
2.3 Cancelling within 3 weeks or less of the party date will mean you are not entitled to a refund, however, at our discretion and availability, you may be offered another date on which to hold the party. This option to rebook the date will be valid within a 6 month period only.
2.4 If you wish to cancel your party date, please do so in writing to carrie@caritascakedesign.co.uk. Please note refunds may take up to 2 weeks to process.
CANCELLATION BY US:
3.1 If in the unlikely event we need to cancel a party, we will endeavour to give you at least one week notice. You will have the option of rebooking another party at a later date, or a full refund. Please note that full refunds may take up to three weeks to process.
3.2 We will not be liable for any losses (including, but not limited to travel, accommodation or loss of earnings) incurred as a result of the party cancellation or modification as set out above, beyond the cost of the party holding fee.
NON ATTENDANCE:
4.1 If you or any of your guests are unable to attend a party due to personal or professional reasons, you will not be entitled to a refund, or automatic transfer to another date. However, we will consider such action as we consider to be fair and reasonable.
4.2 Please note that if alternative options are offered, there may be an additional charge.
4.3 Whilst we wish to be fair and take your circumstances into account when looking at transferring your party fees, if you do not give us any prior notice of non attendance, or simply just don’t turn up on the day, then you will not be entitled to any form or refund or alternative arrangements.
4.4 Final numbers for booking are taken a week prior to the event. After this point no further changes can be made to the booking. If any of your guests are unable to attend and wish to cancel their booking after this point, for any reason, then there will not be the option to refund or move their booking to another date. However, I will be bringing the items they would have otherwise used with me as part of the booking, so if you, or any of the other guests wish to use them at the party, then this will be allowed. This may mean for example that the guest of honour gets to decorate two boxes of cupcakes, as long as doing so falls within the timeframe of the party.
BEHAVIOUR POLICY:
5.1 Whilst a certain level of excitement is to be expected from children at birthday parties, for the safety of the children, I cannot allow excessive noise and disruptive behaviour. This may include, but is not limited to, throwing, screaming, running about, inappropriate use of tools or bullying/teasing of other children.
5.2 At least one other adult should be with me AT ALL TIMES during the party. Whilst I am DBS checked, and have experience working with children, for safety, and so the other children may continue to enjoy the party, I do ask that there is another adult who is prepared to be ‘hands on’, and help manage any child who becomes out of control.
5.3 If a difficult situation does arise, it may be necessary to correct a child’s behaviour. This may be quietly taking them to one side to talk to them, removing a piece of equipment from their use or vicinity, temporarily removing them from the room (with supervision from another adult), or in extreme cases, asking them to leave the activity altogether. AT NO TIME will I physically berate or remove a child, raise my voice, or threaten a child.
5.3.1 I will expect the support of the other adult present if I need to modify a child’s behaviour.
5.3.3 If a child’s behaviour becomes such that I do ask them to leave the activity, no compensation or refund will be given to reflect lack of inclusion in the party. If there is an adult who is happy to take some of the offered materials and tools, and monitor the cupcake decorating away from the main group, this is an acceptable alternative.
BEHAVIOUR EXPECTATIONS
6.1 A final set of rules will be emailed to the party organiser ahead of the party date. I do ask that this is sent to all the guests so they are familiar with my expectations before the event.
6.1.1 I will be setting out rules and expectations in behaviour to the children before we begin. It will be these rules, as agreed with the party organiser, I will hold as the guidelines for behaviour.
6.2 At no time will I accept verbal, or physical abuse from either a child, or an adult. If I am threatened or assaulted, I reserve the right to gather the non-consumable items and tools from the party, and leave, regardless what stage we have got to in the activity. In this instance the organiser is not eligible for any kind of refund or compensation for the loss of payments made, nor will any option to rebook be made.
6.3 I do not accept bullying or ‘picking on’ other children. The children are likely to all have different experience levels, and therefore some variation in skill is to be expected. The children will be expected to adhere to the ‘if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all’ philosophy, with regards to each other’s work.
